Spire Introduces Electroluminescence Solar Module Tester for PV Modules

Provider of turnkey production lines and capital equipment for PV modules production, Spire has launched a new, sophisticated metrology equipment called the Spi-ELTM Electroluminescence Solar Module Tester.

Spi-ELTM Electroluminescence Solar Module Tester

The company has displayed the product at the SNEC 5th (2011) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Exhibition that was conducted in Shanghai, China.

The Spire’s Marketing and Sales Executives, Mark Little, Shih-Yuan (Andy) Lin, Ed Hurley and Peter DiSessa, have demonstrated the product at the international expo.

The Solar Module Tester is the latest member of the Spi-EL line of solar module testers that utilize electroluminescence (EL) technology to detect defects such as minute cracks and other unseen faults in the solar photovoltaic modules.

The Solar Module Tester uses cooled near infrared (IR) charge-coupled camera technology to take the images of solar cells at a resolution of <200 µm per pixel, which equals a 60 MP image for a complete solar module.
