Seoul Semiconductor (SSC), manufacturer of LED solutions, has released a new AC-powered LED solution that is ideal for lighting applications.
The company, according to its 2011 plan, aspires to launch new products every month.
The Acriche A7 3.2 W LED solution operates under DC and AC power supplies and is one of the flagship products of the company. It can function on AC voltages such as 110 and 220 V without utilizing a converter. According to SSC, the LED is small in size but is substantially enhanced in terms of reliability. The unit can also tolerate electro-static discharge (ESD).
The LED solution offers a brightness of 305 lm and comes in a compact ceramic-circuit package. According to the company, the LED is low in cost per lumen, making it ideal for lighting products such as PAR38, PAR30 and MR16 replacement lamps. The device has a lifespan of over 40,000 h and enhances the durability of the end product since it eliminates the use of converters. This enables lamp manufacturers to attain cost savings and improve lifetime and system efficiency.
