Wells Fargo Funds Six Solar Power Projects for Institutions

Wells Fargo has provided funds for six 6 MW solar projects conducted at a university and high schools. GCL-Poly Energy Holdings, a China-based solar company, completed the solar project.

Among the six projects, five of them are at high schools located in Antelope Valley Joint Union High School District in Palmdale, and the other one at the University of San Diego. The solar project allows GCL Solar Energy, a GCL-Poly subsidiary, to offer clean power to consumers including utilities, businesses, municipalities and schools throughout the US.

The solar projects at the Antelope Valley school district and the University of San Diego are the first to be completed. The 1.2 MW solar system installed at the University of San Diego consists of about 5,000 solar panels mounted on the roofs of parking structure, residence halls and academic buildings of the school. In addition, the system will offer around 15% of the university’s energy requirements. The projects at the Antelope Valley Joint Union High School District feature 200 kW to 1.2 MW solar systems.
