A renowned European college, Free Amsterdam University (VU) is utilizing the Venus Series multispectral imaging sensors from Lumidigm in fingerprint readers to give entry access to 8,000 staff, students and faculty for its numerous recreation facilities across Amsterdam.
The school switched to a TopTix SRO software platform and the fingerprint scanning technology simultaneously. Rotterdam-based biometric integrator, EasySecure International has recommended the Lumidigm solution to the school.
The Lumidigm solution utilizes numerous sophisticated polarization methods and wavelengths of light to get exclusive fingerprint attributes from both the subsurface and surface of the skin. This offers more comprehensive, reliable and tamper-resistant results than other biometrics available in the market. The multispectral imaging can read callous, dry or wet fingerprints.
Free Amsterdam University utilizes scanners with four desk systems to register authorized users and has seven gates and doors that are equipped with scanners to allow entry to sports complexes. On a particular day, the system registers on an average of more than 1800 scans across all entries.
