GAO Tek, developer of telecommunication testers, has rolled out a new handheld gigabit Ethernet tester with a 4.3’’ color LCD touch screen.
The 5850 tester performs RFC2544 benchmark testing, network layer 1/2/3 BER testing, cable testing, traffic generation, data packet capture and network testing.
The gigabit Ethernet tester is designed for 10M/100M/1000M Ethernet maintenance and installation and helps front-line field workers to locate faults and examine the network quality. It has auto power save and power outage functions and is compliant to RFC2544, RFC1242 and IEEE802.3 standards. In addition, the device offers test tools such as loopback, packet capture and port positioning.
The tester features a large memory to store results and settings, provides optical ports and dual electrical ports, and has smart navigation menus. It includes a cable VCT that detects cable length, open circuits and short circuits. At the receiver end, the gigabit Ethernet tester accommodates traffic filtration statistic. Furthermore, it features multi and single station traffic generator and supports Windows 2000/XP operating system.
