89 North Unveils Heliophor Light Engine for Fluorescence Imaging Applications

89 North has rolled out a new light engine for fluorescence imaging applications. The Heliophor light engine utilizes a pumped-phosphor design that provides the advantages of existing solid-state light sources such as long operating life, high speed digital shuttering, stable output intensity and a high power output.

Heliophor Pumped-Phosphor Light Engine

The Heliophor supports a maximum of six user-exchangeable modules, enabling the addition of extra modules. In addition, the light engine delivers a high-power output and operates at wavelengths that are unavailable with existing systems.

The pumped-phosphor light engine can be controlled via an advanced programming interface or a simple USB interface, by analog voltages or TTL. In addition, the Heliophor incorporates a sophisticated control interface as well as a system-wide calibration function and real-time optical feedback to maintain consistent light output.
