Provider of fiber-optic transmission services, GlobeCast has set up a Point of Presence (PoP) in Warsaw, Poland for its GlobeCast Backbone Network (GCBN).
The PoP enables the company to provide hybrid satellite-fiber solutions in Central and Eastern Europe. The company will also be able to transport audiovisual content easily between Poland and other places worldwide.
The Warsaw PoP is the 33rd point on the GCBN fiber-optic network that spans for more than 92,000 km of DTM fiber, which is connecting the Americas, Australia, Asia, Europe, and Africa. GlobeCast, earlier this year, had introduced PoPs in São Paulo and Johannesburg. The new fiber-optic link from Paris to Warsaw will provide numerous opportunities in the fiber-optic market, especially easy providing of foreign channels in high-definition, by the cable operators of Poland.
The new fiber-optic connection will provide Polish channels with improved access to the satellite and teleport platforms of GlobeCast across the world. The connection allows the company to obtain the signal of a channel directly in Warsaw and offer the channel to the Paris teleport for broadcast on any satellite platform. This enables Polish channels to connect with the Polish people in Canada and North America.
