GAO Fiber Optics Rolls Out Portable Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer

GAO Fiber Optics, provider of fiber-optic test and measurement devices, has rolled out its new optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) that offers a maximum of six pairs of concurrent test result comparisons.

2000 OTDR

The 2000 handheld OTDR is utilized in fault point location, and loss characteristics analysis, in the fiber-optic networks’ manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.

The 2000 OTDR is compatible with telecommunication, ISP, and CATV fiber networks. As the OTDR responses quickly, it can complete measuring a 50 km fiber in 30 sec. The OTDR also displays the return loss and slice loss distribution curves, fault points, connection point, attenuation coefficient, and length of the fiber. It is compact in size, and delivers convenient operation, making it suitable for field testing.
