Showa Denko Ramps Up Production Capacity of Blue LED Chips

The Tokyo-based manufacturer of chemical products, Showa Denko (SDK) has ramped up its blue LED chip production capacity from 200 million units to 340 million units per month, at its Chiba site.

The company had conducted a trial operation earlier to achieve stable operations and product quality, after the expansion of the production capacity. SDK has already commenced the commercial operation at its facility.

SDK has planned to promote technical development for the enhancement in LED chips’ output and efficiency. Accordingly, the company will offer high-performance solutions that meet the needs of customers.

The company will continue to offer its energy efficient ultrabright LED solutions as part of its contributions to achieve sustainability in the society. SDK intends to minimize the environmental impact and resolve such issues including the diminution of resources.
