Photonic Solutions has released a new LICS06 laser interlock control system for failsafe access control in places prone to laser hazards. The laser interlock system can be used with any type of laser.
LICS06 Laser Interlock Controller
The LICS06 uses interlocked doors and a security keypad entry system so that only authorized persons can enter high-voltage hazardous zones. Each control system can monitor about four separate entry points using laser warning signs, mechanical door switches, and keypad exit and entry panels.
The laser interlock controller includes a number of features such as a master keyswitch control, system integrity checking with warning system and detection circuitry, redundant contacts and double contact for laser outputs, force-guided relays for safety outputs and an internal over-ride feature with audible warning.
The LICS06 system also features an isolated control for about six lasers and can be linked to interlock controllers or external shutters. The system is available in daisy chain configurations, but can also be configured as non-locking or locking laser interlock system.
