Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting has released new LED rechargeable lanterns that are available in dry cell, rechargeable and solar configurations. The LED lanterns are suitable for general area lighting applications or can be utilized as a torch.
The LEDs are eco-friendly, mercury-free and consume minimum power. The LEDs can operate for up to a maximum of 30000 h. Unlike the petromax lamps and kerosene lamps, the LED lanterns do not produce heat or dangerous fumes. The lanterns do not pose any fire risk and can be carried easily.
Wipro Lighting’s Sales Vice President, Sanjay Gupta, stated that they will introduce the LED lanterns in Punjab, U.P and south India. The lanterns feature advanced LED technology and are manufactured to meet the Indian environments. India’s rural areas face frequent power cut problems, which will drive the market for the company’s LED rechargeable lanterns, Gupta said.
Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting’s President, Vineet Agrawal, remarked that the LED lantern is both energy-efficient and eco-friendly and is a suitable replacement for petromax and kerosene lamps.
