New Book on Semiconductor Disk Lasers

Research and Markets has included the John Wiley and Sons’ new book, ‘Semiconductor Disk Lasers: Physics and Technology’ to its offering. The author of the book is Oleg G. Okhotnikov, a professor of Tampere University of Technology, Finland.

The book offers analysis on the recent developments in the semiconductor disk laser field. The book covers several key topics, namely external-cavity surface-emitting diode lasers, mode-locked semiconductor disk lasers, quantum dots-based semiconductor disk lasers, long-wavelength GaSb disk lasers, and VECSEL semiconductor lasers. In addition, it also includes topics on thermal management, operating principles, laser applications, short pulse generation, semiconductor materials, and nonlinear frequency conversion.

The semiconductor disk-laser book also collates many world experts’ contributions at the research centers in the USA and Europe. The book is ideal for students with optics background, as well as the physicists, engineers, and researchers working in the semiconductor disk-laser field.
