Broadband service provider, Occam Networks, announced that Slic Network Solutions has selected its BLC 6000 MSAP (multiservice access platform) to provide broadband services to over 39 anchor institutions and business organizations and 700 households in the Western Franklin County, New York.
Under the project, Slic Networks will provide triple play services that include IPTV and three tiers of Internet. The fiber project, which costs $5.2 million, will be funded through loans and grants under the Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP). The project will expand the communication options in the Franklin County.
Slic Networks brings sophisticated broadband services to the surrounding regions and has provided high-speed access to school districts, hospitals and rural clinics. The company will utilize the fiber optic cables across five townships and will link hospitals to rural clinics to promote better communication between the medical centers. The company will use GPON technologies on the BLC 6000 MSAP and the BLC 6322 GPON Optical Line Termination.
The Chief Executive Officer of Slic Networks, Phillip Wagschal, said that the local populations are looking forward to experience the advantages of high-speed internet services in their area. He added that Occam delivers reliable solutions that are necessary to expand the network into rural areas.
