New, Updated Edition on Liquid Crystal Displays

Research and Markets has released a new book titled “Optics of Liquid Crystal Displays, 2nd Edition”.

Liquid crystal displays

The John Wiley and Sons’ book provides a detailed analysis on the fundamentals of the liquid crystal display systems and informs readers about designing and analyzing new subsystems and components for LCDs.

The second edition book covers a number of topics such as the dynamics of molecular reorientation, negative and neutral biaxial thin films for compensators, anti-reflection coatings and circular polarizers. In addition, the book also includes detailed information about the Poincar sphere method in numerous optical components such as achromatic wave filters and plates. Other details include IPS-LCD, optical compensators for LCDs, Jones Matrix method, VA-LCD and electromagnetic propagation in anisotropic media.

The updated book also includes numerical examples, polarization of optical waves, matrix addressing, LCDs’ properties and cholesteric liquid crystals’ optical properties, among others. The book is useful for applied physics and electrical engineering students as well as scientists and engineers involved in the R&D area of display technologies.
