Manufacturer of solid-state lighting systems, ilumisys, has granted patent license for LED (light emitting diode) fluorescent tube replacements to NCS Power, Diogen Lighting, ATG Electronics, LumaSmart, LEDtronics and Hudnut.
The licensing program enables the firms to provide light emitting diode fluorescent replacements, with varied performance and price points, into the market. ilumisys believes that providing access to its patent portfolio can speed up the development and installation process of LED products. The license deals allow royalty payments in return for the manufacturing and distribution rights of products under Altair’s patent portfolio.
Altair Engendering, the parent company of Ilumisys, is a global software and technology firm. ilumisys has over 50 patent applications to its credit in research and development.
ilumisys’ President, Dave Simon, stated that the licensee program was proposed to support LED organizations to deliver efficient LED solutions. The program supports the growing marketplace and promotes collaboration in the sector, Simon said.
