Imagine Optic is proud to announce the arrival of the latest addition to its award winning HASO™ wavefront sensor product line, HASO3, a completely revised version of its flagship wavefront analysis software, HASOv3, and the all new StitchWave™ for reconstructing multiple wavefronts obtained when measuring large surfaces. The company equally plans to release two new adaptive optics software packages, CASAO™ and GENAO™, in the first quarter of 2007.
CRAIC Technologies, the leader manufacturer of UV-visible-NIR microscopes and microspectrophotometers, today released the new QDI ImageUV™ imaging system for the QDI 2010™ microspectrophotometer. This new system represents a major step forward in the fields of microscopy and microspectroscopy in that it allows users of the QDI 2010™ to acquire both images and spectra in the UV, visible and NIR regions of micron-scale samples. Images and spectra can be acquired in transmittance, reflectance, polarization and even fluorescence from the deep UV to the NIR.
Fujitsu Limited today announced the signing of an agreement with Pacific Crossing Limited (PCL) to increase the transmission capacity of its trans-Pacific submarine cable network (PC-1 Network). This capacity upgrade is to cope with the rapid growth of data traffic demand in the Pacific region due to the spread of worldwide internet usage.
Syntune AB, a leading developer of innovative, single-chip, widely tunable lasers, today announced that it has closed the second round of financing of SEK 47.8 million ($7.1 million, EUR 5.2 million). The round was led by InnovationsKapital of Sweden; other investors who participated in the round were Teknoinvest, Vision Capital and existing private investors.
Most people think of Sir Isaac Newton as the father of gravity.
But for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory physicist Henry Chapman and his colleagues, Newton’s “dusty mirror” experiment served a...
When you talk optics you will have to say Jena. And when you talk about the scientific education of optical experts, the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena has a reputation acknowledged throughout the world. The university also is the only one in Germany and one of five partners from all of Europe, which, starting in the fall of 2007, will offer the masters-programme „Optics in Science and Technology“ (OPSITECH). This course of study is aimed at master students and university faculty from all over the world, who will be supported from EU-scholarships.
EMCORE Corporation, a leading provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the broadband, fiber optic, satellite and terrestrial solar power markets, today announced the consolidation of its North American fiber optics engineering and design centers into its three main operating sites.
As communities with a commitment to environmental protection, Diex and Hörbranz (Austria) place great value on solar energy and low power consumption for their street lighting. This does not mean that brightness has to be compromised, however, as brilliant street lights equipped with Golden Dragon Oval LEDs amply demonstrate. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has developed special oval lenses for this application that direct the light accurately onto the street.
Micropelt
GmbH, manufacturer of thin film thermoelectric devices,
announces a significant technology advancement in its ultra-small,
microchip thermoelectric coolers (TECs). The new MPC-D303 Series, one
of Micropelt’s smallest TECs with a cold side area of only
0.98 square millimeters (mm2), supports a
maximum temperature difference (delta T) of over 60 Kelvin (K). This
increased delta T opens possibilities for laser and photonic sensor
manufacturers whose applications require a large bandwidth of thermal
control.
The Nikon SMZ range of stereo zoom microscopes has been further extended with the launch of the new SMZ445 and SMZ460 models. With fixed inclination angles of 45 and 60 degrees, these latest additions provide a new entry-point into the high quality optical performance that defines the SMZ range.
