The SuperK COMPACT from NKT Photonics is a supercontinuum white light source, offering diffraction limited light in the whole 450-2400 nm region. It provides brightness orders of magnitude greater than that of incandescent lamps, and with far greater bandwidth than ASE sources or SLEDs. The light is supplied in a single mode fiber, terminated with either a standard FC/PC connector or NKT Photonics’ high quality collimator. The SuperK COMPACT is used in many laboratories worldwide.
It is possible to trigger the SuperK COMPACT externally and sync it with low jitter up to 20 kHz. The trigger signal can be provided to a standard coax input or to an industrial trigger input that is galvanically isolated. The COMPACT can be combined with a computer-controlled filter from NKT Photonics’ supercontinuum accessory range. This combination can turn the white light source into an ultra broadband tunable laser, and control it all via the NKT Photonics CONTROL software.
The SuperK COMPACT can be designed with three types of output termination:
- FC/APC
- FC/PC
- Broadband collimator – This version is compatible with NKT Photonics’ filtering accessories, such as SELECT and VARIA
