ProMetric® I imaging colorimeters are made to meet the needs of manufacturers who need to produce large quantities of light sources, backlit components, displays, and other device parts. For lab testing and production-level inspection, ProMetric I offers extremely accurate color and brightness measurements using tristimulus color filter technology, which is based on common CIE color-matching algorithms.
ProMetric I is built using a variety of high-resolution scientific-grade image sensors. These sensors provide precise measurements of LED luminance and color in luminaires or large LED arrays, pixel-level measurements of displays (LCD, OLED), and inter- and intra-character luminance measurements on backlit keyboards and panels.
Overview
ProMetric I Family
The premier image solution for calibrated luminance and chromaticity measurement in the industry is provided by the ProMetric® I line of imaging colorimeters. The system's internal tristimulus color filter offers a natural spectral response aligned with standard CIE color-matching functions. Meanwhile, its high-resolution imaging capability captures and analyzes millions of values simultaneously across extensive fields of view and depths of field.
The ProMetric I's Smart TechnologyTM features simplify operations and make measuring results more accurate. For instance, the electronically regulated focus and aperture adjustment provides calibrated readings across a broad range of working distances and fields of vision. This significantly simplifies measurement setup and enables fully automated remote configuration of production test systems.

Applications
Radiant's ProMetric I Series imaging colorimeters are designed to satisfy the demands of high-speed manufacturing processes. They combine the advantages of automation and human visual perception accuracy to handle various applications.
- Display color and brightness testing
- LED product light measurement and characterization
- Testing the appearance homogeneity of keypads and LED instrument clusters
Display Testing
The ProMetric I Imaging Colorimeter precisely measures color and light characteristics throughout a display. It measures spatial brightness, contrast, uniformity, and chromaticity (in CIE x, y and u', v'). The system may identify flaws in any display section, including mura, light leakage, and dead pixels or lines.
ProMetric I measures every display's complete chromaticity and brightness, and applying the analysis takes a few seconds. It is the go-to solution for worldwide display panel production manufacturing operations. It also has USB and Ethernet connections and offers extremely dependable operation from camera to camera and line to line.

Automotive Systems
The visual performance, regulatory compliance, and consumer pleasure of all lit components within and outside the car, including instrument panels, dome lights, and headlamps, depend heavily on light, color, and dimensional correctness.
When combined with automated analysis software from Radiant's TrueTest platform, the ProMetric I provides the whole measuring solution for systems, from center stacks to instrument panels, from headlamps to head-up displays.
Every ProMetric I system has electronically controlled lenses as standard. This enables manufacturers to quickly and simply adjust focus and aperture settings using software when the distance of the image changes or when necessary for regulatory testing (such as DFF Black Mura Gradient assessment).

Lighting
Radiant has decades of experience in light measurement, with applications ranging from big luminaires to individual LEDs. Their expertise includes data collecting for light source modeling and non-uniformity correction for huge LED panels. The ProMetric I is used for both goniometric and non-goniometric light source measurements.
It can assess chromaticity, illuminance, and luminous intensity, as well as geometric features like distribution cut-off gradient and shape. It can also fully characterize a source's three-dimensional output by creating ray sets, IES, or LDT/EULUMDAT files.
