SVTC Technologies, the leading commercialization service provider for new, emerging silicon-based technologies in areas such as CMOS, MEMS, photovoltaics and other related nanotechnologies, is pleased to announce that it is now offering ITAR compliant development and manufacturing services, allowing customers to develop process technologies and manufacture products with potential defense applications.
ITAR, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, regulates the manufacture, export, and transfer of defense-related articles, information, and services, and is under the direct oversight of the U.S. Department of State. ITAR-compliant facilities and practices are a requirement for participation in many defense-related manufacturing and development programs.
By establishing ITAR compliance and registration with the Department of State, SVTC can now offer development and manufacturing services to a much broader range of companies, including those with efforts in defense-related programs. This represents a new class of services for SVTC and is a direct extension of their long-time business offering IP-secure development services.
"This registration positions SVTC to further service the defense market. Coupling ITAR security with our significant commitment and expertise in developing advanced technologies enables us to more effectively address the needs of our aerospace, defense, and military customers, in addition to other markets we currently serve," said Dave Anderson, Vice President of Corporate Development. "Since companies developing ITAR-controlled products and technologies can only work in ITAR-compliant facilities, SVTC's ITAR registration will greatly increase our opportunity to provide services to defense-related systems and component developers."
