Radiant Communications Signs Broadband Service Deal with MTS Allstream

MTS Allstream Inc. ("MTS Allstream"), a subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. (TSX: MBT) and Radiant Communications Corp. (TSX-V: RCN) today announced that the two companies have entered into a Broadband Network Investment Agreement. The agreement enables both companies to provide reliable, next generation, high capacity broadband services to Canadian businesses.

"This new service agreement with MTS Allstream will allow more than 300,000 Canadian businesses to benefit from bandwidth intensive IP-based data communications allowing them to compete more effectively," said David Buffett, President and CEO of Radiant. "This agreement supports our stated strategy of growing our portfolio of services and partnering with industry-leading companies to expand our addressable market."

The long term Network Investment Agreement outlines how Radiant and MTS Allstream will combine resources to offer a new type of broadband service to businesses. More than 300,000 Canadian business locations across the country will be within the planned service area once the technology is fully deployed. The new services from Radiant and MTS Allstream will allow businesses to cost effectively move up from traditional T1 and DSL services to the type of speed and reliability that today is only available to extremely large users connected to fibre networks. The services will facilitate the transition to cloud-based applications, new inexpensive voice services, remote back up and disaster recovery protection, and off site server capacity. This unique and innovative broadband service, proven in Europe, Australia, and the US, delivers higher bandwidth speeds at lower costs to businesses in major metropolitan centres.

"Through this strategic and efficient investment with Radiant that substantially extends our broadband network footprint, we will be able to serve the needs of many Canadian businesses for services which require high bandwidth delivered in an economical fashion. This innovative approach allows MTS Allstream to improve its self supply Ethernet capability to its business customers of all sizes," said Dean Prevost, President, Allstream.

Radiant and Allstream have a deployment plan in place with service available in the Toronto and Vancouver markets in January 2010 and extending nationally throughout the year.
