USPO Awards Two Patents for Zecotek Photonics’ 3D Display Systems

Zecotek Photonics Inc., a developer of leading-edge photonics technologies for industrial, healthcare and scientific markets, is pleased to announce that the U.S. Patent office has granted U.S. Patent No. 9,182,605 and U.S. Patent No. 9,182,606 to Zecotek for technology related to the Company's front and rear projection autostereoscopic 3D display systems respectively. These patents are part of Zecotek's growing global portfolio of patents, including U.S. patent number 7,944,465 covering its glasses-free 3D auto-stereoscopic display system.

"As we are now in the final process of commercialization of our 3D display technologies, receiving two new U.S. patents covering large format displays is an important milestone to secure this unique intellectual property and cover all aspects of realistic, glasses free, natural 3D viewing," said Dr. A.F. Zerrouk, Chairman, President, and CEO of Zecotek Photonics Inc. "The patents cover both front and rear projection technology which can be used for large format displays. This will be of particular value for movie theatres, simulations, advertising and teaching purposes."

The two patents relate to projection 3D autostereoscopic displays using time-sequencing approach and at least two lens arrays to provide multiple perspective views to form 3D images in the field of view. 3D autostereoscopic time-sequencing is not dependent on the number of perspectives and therefore allows for higher resolution across a wide number of perspectives. This applies to both front and rear projections for large screen 3D display applications.

Patents have been granted to Zecotek for its 3D display system in the United States, China, Europe, Eurasia, Russia and Australia. Other patents have been filed and are pending in Japan, Korea and India.
