NECA and Xeralux Partner to Promote Affordable and Sensible Lighting Solutions

NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) and Xeralux have collaborated to provide the sustainability-focused schools and businesses in the city with cost-effective and sensible lighting solutions.

Mike Ko Xeralux’s Director of Strategic Accounts and David Shankle, Executive Director of the Southern Sierras Chapter of NECA

According to David Shankle, Executive Director of the Southern Sierras Chapter of NECA, LED lighting can reduce the average energy bill by 50%-70% in school campus or business facility within the city. LED lights were previously thought to be complex as they were considered to require complete replacement and rewiring of lighting fixtures during installation. On behalf of this emerging LED technology, a new retrofit product line has been created by Xeralux. Unlike the need to change the whole light fixture, the company’s retrofit kits require simple replacement of existing incandescent lighting with ballast replacement and an LED bulb.

Mike Ko, Xeralux’s Director, Strategic Accounts said that the retrofit kits are eco-friendly, energy-efficient and priced 50% less than the new lighting, and have been approved for energy rebates by DLC. Around 31 of Xealux’s products comply with calculated rebate incentives, due to their significant energy reduction that benefits energy providers. Xeralux is a unique company to have its products recognized by the DLC.

Shankle further stated that ‘an energy audit for benchmarking’ is vital for a city, school system or commercial campus. Since a year, NECA has been offering free no-obligation energy audits to businesses and organizations.

LED is the major lighting solution of future that contributes to energy independence. Together, NECA and Xeralux have supported around 5,000 businesses and organizations.
