Haitz's Law states that with 20x more intensity and 10x more efficiency, LED efficiency will rapidly surpass any existing lighting technology.
Hydro Grow is an exclusive company to penetrate within global LED Grow Light market in July 2009. Since the beginning, Hydro Grow has developed new lens technologies and has been progressing with LED Grow light technology. Two published US Patent Applications such as US 2012/0020071A1 and US 2012/0104977A1 includes details about the advancement.
Studying the interaction of lens with the LED leads to better lens development. Advanced LED Grow Lights include high Power LEDs made up of four primary parts such as wiring, diode (chip), lens, and package. LED package, equipped with a lens forms the primary lens. Light emitted by the diode will be harnessed and focused on to a set dispersion angle. The common lens included in LED Grow Lights generates light at a 90° angle; a significant amount of light falls beyond the 90° perimeter, through set pattern.
During April 2011 Hydro Grow formulated a new method, wherein light escaping the dispersion pattern can be re-captured. In addition, it also developed a custom secondary optic called X-lens made up of a single fragment of optics-grade acrylic, with 21 individual lenses.
During April 2012, Hydro Grow launched X2 that generates 569% higher output than the 90° primary lens.
LED Grow Lights ultimately exceeds the photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) output of HPS, by utilizing 60% less power, 400%-600% less heat generation as well as a photo synthetically-optimal spectrum. LED Grow Lights promote cost and energy-efficiency. LED Grow Lights will leverage the multi-billion dollar per year horticultural lighting industry with Hydro Grow being maintained in a leading position.
