Eco-friendly LED lights from Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G) have been installed to decrease light pollution and to ensure reliability and security.
The first installations of these LED light fixtures have been achieved in facilities such as New Brunswick on George Street linking Bayard Street and Liberty Street, at Montclair State University, and in Haworth-based United Water. Installation is now under process at the Rutgers University Newark campus. Municipalities and commercial customers can deploy the new lighting that is available across the utility’s service territory.
PSE&G provides decorative post top, flood light, and a small cobra head fixture. These innovative new fixtures have 8x more durability and maximum reliability. PSE&G is New Jersey’s first utility to offer LED lights for commercial applications and small and large-scale municipal deployments. With these fixtures, minimal carbon footprint, high reliability, increased color generation and assured security can be achieved.
According to PSE&G VP of Customer Operations, Joseph A. Forline, the municipalities and other facilities can improve their environmental sustainable features by deploying these new LED lighting fixtures in their facilities. By offering this revolutionary lighting technology, both environmental standards and customer needs can be fulfilled.
LED flood lights offer direct lighting with brilliant, white light. These lights have average life expectancy of up to 80,000 h, while it is 12,000 hfor non-LED flood lights. The lights are devoid of mercury and contain no hazardous materials. The CO2 emissions can be reduced. Based on these advantageous LEDs, PSE&G is able to promote economic, safe, and reliable green energy.
