Pioneer in in-built silicon solutions, Marvell has introduced a highly efficient turnkey 40-W equivalent LED lamp reference design kit.
The design kit employs Marvell’s 88EM8081 Digital Flyback PFC Controller with an advanced Digital Signal Processing solution and Philips Lumileds’ latest product, LUXEON A LED. The controller uses the company’s patented adaptive control-loop design.
The production-ready LED solution has faced stringent pre-testing, a four-to-six month process for the OEMs in order to decrease the market-reach time considerably for the lighting producers. The designs of the kit also fulfilled important safety and environmental regulatory standards.
According to Kishore Manghnani, who serves as Vice President at Marvell’s Green Technology Products Group, the company’s 88EM8801 is the latest dual-string smart LED single chip, a result of the company’s expertise in energy-savingand low-power solutions.
According to Ray Chock at Philips Lumileds, Marvell’s knowledge in driver along with the new LUXEON LEDs results in superior performance and quality bulbs to the market. To grab a vital share of the LED market, it is important for the lighting producers to rapidly attain volume production and reduce cost of ownership, he added.
