Verbatim, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical, has announced that it will foray into the Australian LED lighting market in 2011 with a new series of LED replacement lamps. The company stated that it will launch various LED lighting fixtures that include GU10/GU5.3, E27, and E14 bases.
Verbatim informed that the LED lightings last for about 35,000 h, which is equal to 16 years at an average of 6 hr per day. Verbatim’s LED lights consume less power and deliver enhanced efficacy. The LED lights do not utilize mercury and are environment-friendly. The lights are color temperature tunable from 2700 K to 5000 K. They reduce maintenance costs because of less re-lamping. The lights can be utilized for both outdoor and indoor applications.
According to Verbatim, first batch of LED lights to be unveiled in Australia would be based on blue LED chip technology. The lamps have a Color Rendering Index of 98, which is close to daylight.
