AOptix and Aware to Jointly Offer Dual-Factor Iris and Face Biometric System

Developer of advanced iris biometric products, AOptix Technologies, along with Aware, will demonstrate a prototype face and iris biometrics system at the Biometrics Consortium Conference and Technology Expo that will take place in Tampa, Florida, from September 21 – 23, 2010.

InSight Iris Recognition System

The prototype biometrics system combines the Universal Registration Client (URC) of Aware and the InSight 2 m iris recognition system of AOptix. The URC application and the software development kits offer a user interface for enrolling face and iris images automatically, and provide a choice for fingerprint biometrics information.

The InSight iris recognition system performs automated iris biometric capture at 2 m distance. The iris and face imaging and the quality scoring happen at the same time, offering swift capture of the face and two irises, in just 4 to 5 sec.

The InSight iris recognition system offers automated iris recognition via the adaptive optics approach that optimizes the subject usability, providing a simplified instruction set. People have to move into a 0.75 m³ capture zone, look into the iris recognition system, and open the eyes. The biometric face imaging depends on the same set of instructions that result in dual biometric capture.
