Future Lighting, Quantum Lighting to Develop LUXEON Rebel LED Retrofit Bulbs

Global distributor of advanced LED lighting components, Future Lighting Solutions, has partnered with a Hong Kong-based company, Quantum Lighting Products, to manufacture an LED retrofit for the E26-base incandescent bulbs.

The retrofits utilize Philips Lumileds’ LUXEON Rebel LEDs and are available in four warm and cool white versions. The retrofits are available in Japanese retail stores and are being marketed under the brand name, Elpa. The LED retrofits can replace 60 W and 40 W bulbs.

Quantum designed and developed the bulbs for Asahi Electric. Future Lighting provided consultation on board assembly and offered engineering assistance such as thermal management and input on LED board layout. In addition, Future Lighting offered inventory management services to make sure that Quantum obtains LEDs from specific forward voltage, flux and color bins for reliable and efficient performance.

The 5.5 W or 4 W retrofit bulbs include five or three LUXEON Rebel LEDs. The retrofit bulbs utilize only one tenth of the power consumed by an incandescent bulb and last up to 40,000 h.
