Bell Aliant Launches FiberOp FTTH Network in Greater Moncton Area

North America’s telecommunication service provider, Bell Aliant, has launched an advanced FiberOP fibre-to-the-home network in the Greater Moncton region. Customers staying in the City of Moncton, City of Dieppe and Riverview Town will have the opportunity to utilize the FibreOP services.

The FibreOP network is a 100% optical network that delivers better internet services, high upload speeds and high-quality television viewing. The FibreOP internet provides 15 Mbps upload and 70 Mbps download services. High internet speeds allow users to share photos and videos and download movies and  music quickly.

The FibreOP TV provides complete digital television service that includes view and record PVR and HD TV. Viewers can enjoy superior digital picture and sound in more than 300 channels. The FibreOP services are presently available in Saint John and Greater Fredericton regions, but will be offered shortly to Moncton and Riverview customers.

Bell will invest an additional $350 million dollars in 2011 and 2012 to extend its technology to over 600,000 businesses and households.
