Abica’s Fibre Optic Cabling Offers High-Speed Broadband to Business Telecoms

Abica currently utilizes a telephone exchange network upgrade in the UK in the next one year to provide businesses with high cost savings and improved telecoms functionality. This enhancement is due to the fibre optic cabling introduced in the network’s outer reach.

The copper wiring between the UK’s street side telecoms cabinets and telephone exchanges will get upgraded to optical fibre cables over a year. The fibre optic cables carry large amount of data at faster speeds and reduced cost. Initially, businesses will have to install a new router to link the fibre optic cables. Subsequently, businesses will be able to utilize the capabilities of Abica's FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) solution.

The call charges of the FTTC will be about 70% lesser compared to the data transmitted over the copper wiring. The FTTC will also increase the speeds of upload and download by a factor of 12 and 8, respectively. In addition, FTTC allows video transmission, a prioritised data transmission over other traffic, and a consistent call quality.
