LED Chip Maker, Epistar Invests in Oree

Taiwan-based LED chip-manufacturer, Epistsar Corporation, has invested in planar LED lighting specialist, Oree. Oree’s solid-state light source is suitable for LCD panel backlighting, architectural, decorative and general lighting applications. The light sources meet the requirements of the lighting industry and offer efficient lighting of large areas.

The strategic collaboration between the two companies will strengthen their market penetration in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Oree is presently working with specific customers in Europe and Asia. The company will enter into high-volume production in the beginning of 2011. On the other hand, Epistar has collaborated with various companies with innovative technologies.

Oree’s patented technology enables backlight and general lighting producers to reduce manufacturing expenditure and improve the LED systems’ efficiency.

Oree’s Chief Executive Officer and founder, Eran Fine, stated that they are pleased that Epistar has invested in the company. The investment will allow them to expand their global reach and meet their large-scale production objectives.
