In spite of the adjustments in the supply chain inventory and the fall in the panel prices, the TFT LCD panel manufacturers are targeting to carry on the momentum of the shipment growth in the later half of the year. Except for the public display panels, the entire TFT LCD products showed quarter-over-quarter growth in the second quarter. However, the shipment in the LCD monitor panels began to drop in June. The shipment of panels used in notebook PCs, such as the slate type PCs and mini-notes, showed the strongest quarterly growth of 15%. The LCD TV panel shipment touched 55 million units, which is a new record.

Samsung Electronics is leading in the shipment of large-area TFT LCD panels in the second quarter of 2010, with sales revenue of $6 billion and revenue share of 26.3%. LG Display is holding the second position with revenues of $5.4 billion, followed by AUO with $3.7 billion revenues.
