Quell to Install Telestone’s Wireless Fiber Optic Distribution System in Houston Hospital

Telestone Technologies has announced that its WFDS (Wireless Fiber Optic Distribution System) has been chosen as the local access network solution for a Houston-based hospital.

Quell, a US-based company, will install the network. Earlier, the company had demonstrated the WFDS functions to leading U.S. telecommunication enterprises including the Houston hospital.

The project, which is expected to be completed by 2010, is valued at $2.0 million. Quell will purchase Telestone’s Wireless Fiber Optic Distribution System components and will team up with local enterprises to install the WFDS system. Telestone has established a subsidiary in the U.S. to partner with Quell and other U.S. companies on future installation locations in the U.S.

Quell’s owner, David Ballard, stated that the company is impressed with the WFDS functionality after a detailed review and testing. He added that the WFDS system has delivered high signal strength in public building setting and the company is looking forward to obtain similar project opportunities for the Wireless Fiber Optic Distribution System.
