P-OTS Service Provider Survey Chart

According to the report, OTN (optical transport network) switching is essential for P-OTS equipment. Unlike the TDM, various respondents in the core and metro networks will utilize the OTN. All of the respondents in the survey said they intend to utilize 100G/40G interfaces for the core network, while few intend to utilize the high-speed interfaces also in the metro networks. As a result, 100G/40G will be an integral feature of P-OTS.

The directing analyst for optical at Infonetics Research, Andrew Schmitt, stated that the P-OTS will be a significant part of the optical networks in the future. They have performed the survey to know the vital P-OTS features required for the service providers, Schmitt said.
