LED Specialist io Lighting Acquired for Nearly $17 Million
Cooper Industries, Ltd. announced that it has acquired io Lighting, a dedicated light-emitting diode (“LED”) lighting fixture company, and Powerline Communications, Inc., a manufacturer of digital lighting control panels. Expected sales for the two companies in 2007 are approximately $17 million and the combined purchase price is $22 million.

OSRAM Now offers 3-channel DMX Dimmers for LED Lighting
With its Optotronic OT RGB DMX dimmer, OSRAM has now entered the world of DMX 3-channel dimmers for LED systems. Since DMX supports up to 512 individually addressable channels, the new dimmer lends itself particularly well to creating effect-oriented lighting in discotheques, theatres or concert halls, as well as to the large-area illumination of architecture.

ON Semiconductor Introduces New LED Driver for Architectural Lighting
ON Semiconductor has launched a new, advanced offline LED driver called the NCL30001. The LED driver integrates the step-down AC to DC power conversion and the PFC (power factor correction) in a single phase. The cost-effective LED driver is suitable for low bay, architectural, wall packs and street lighting applications.
