Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced that the Ricoh Aficio MP 9001SP received an overall rating of four and a half stars out of a possible five stars from Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI).
The Aficio MP 9001SP exhibited outstanding overall print productivity, including an efficiency rate in BLI's job stream test that is the highest of similar models tested to date, and very good overall copy productivity, image quality and ease of use.
BLI found the copy efficiency of the Aficio MP 9001SP among the highest for the group in 1:1 and 2:2 models. Print image quality is very good, including above average ratings for text, line art, halftone range and solids. By default, these devices are configured for duplex copying which is one of Ricoh's Energy Star features. Ricoh is one of the only companies to support this capability in this way. In addition, a standard duplex single-pass feeder (SDPF) scans both sides of a document in a single pass, and contributed to the device's outstanding overall productivity for 2:2 copy mode. It also offers standard color scanning, and documents can be scanned to USB and SD cards in both color and black and white. The MP 9001SP print efficiency is the highest of similarly equipped models tested in both simplex and duplex modes
Finishing options are robust, including two 3,000-sheet finishers and a 2,000 sheet saddle-stitch finisher. A production booklet maker is also available, as is a GBC Stream- Punch III option for punching collated documents in-line. The optional multi-fold unit offers up to six folding patterns such as half-fold, letter fold, letter fold-out, gate fold, double parallel and z-fold.
The 90-ppm Ricoh Aficio MP 9001 is targeted to customers who need to print high volumes with robust finishing capabilities, and who do not want to pay the premium cost of a light production device. This device is well suited to meet the needs of various environments such as Government, Education, Legal, Financial and Faith-based institutions. The 90-ppm model is a new addition to Ricoh's product line offering speed, quality and robust finishing for all environments. This 90-ppm model is one of four devices that range in speed from 60-ppm to 90-ppm.
